MARINERS ROSTER FOR 24/25 SEASON

Yarmouth, N.S. (September 10, 2024) – The Yarmouth Jr A Mariners announce their finalized roster ahead of the start to their regular season. Yarmouth will start the year with 21 skaters, including 2 goalies, 7 defensemen, and 12 forwards. Yarmouth will open the season this Friday at home against the Pictou County Crushers.

The Mariners have 10 returning players from last year’s roster: Jerome Nadeau, Keefe Marshall, Ethan Hoffe, Jared Pitman, Sam Hope, Liam Noble, Nathan Mossey, Kyle McGuire, Liam Trenholm, and Thomas Fontaine.

Thomas Fontaine will return in net and will be joined by Carter Arnold, who was acquired in late August from Pictou County. “It feels amazing. I’m super excited to be a Mariner and can’t wait for the upcoming season, said Arnold.

On the blue line are 4 newcomers: Ben Manos, who played 6 regular season and 1 playoff games as an AP last season; Loic Mburanumwe, standing at 6’3” and 190 lbs, who was recently acquired in a trade with the Princeville Titans; Lucas Boisvert, who was also acquired in a trade with Princeville, and brings 2 seasons (63 games) of QMJHL blue line experience to the team; and Noah Therrien, another late addition to this year’s roster, who is eager to prove himself on an already solid Yarmouth blue line.

In addition to the 6 returning forwards, the Mariners are adding 6 new faces to the offensive group: Thomas Larouche, Alexis Tanguay, Lorenzo Tita, Justin Garneau, Alexis Parent, and Marcellus Francis.

Thomas Larouche signed to Yarmouth after playing 2 amazing seasons with the Val-d’Or Foreurs the QMJHL, where he put up an impressive 61 points in 119 games. We are extremely excited to be able to bring aboard a player with his skill and experience. We are looking for him to jumpstart our offence, and the fans at the fish tank are going to love this guy,said head coach Laurie Barron.  

Alexis Tanguay was picked up from the Quebec Ramparts. “I’m ready to commit to being a Yarmouth Mariner!” said Tanguay. “I’m very excited about this new opportunity and coming to such a great organization. We have a great group of guyscan’t wait to see this on the ice.”

Lorenzo Tita is an import from Pennsylvania and a talented player who is looking to make his mark on the league.

Justin Garneau, another Quebec native, will be joining our core forwards. “I feel very excited to be part of the Yarmouth Mariners!” said Garneau. I’ve heard some amazing things about the fans and the staff. I can’t wait to get things started with an amazing group of guys!”

Alexis Parent joined the team after playing the last 3 hockey seasons in the USA.

Marcellus Francis, the most recent addition to the team, played last season with Grand Falls,where he had 16 points in 42 games.

Head coach Laurie Barron returns to his home behind the bench after signing a 3-year extension. He’s joined by veteran staff John Murphy, Aaron Boogaard, and Jared Purdy.
