Steve Callahan joins the Mariners with an extensive background in hockey, including his current role as Head Coach and Assistant General Manager of the St. John’s Jr. Caps in the SJJHL. His experience as a professional scout for the NHL, AHL, and ECHL over the past three years, coupled with 11 years as the Head Scout for Newfoundland in the QMJHL, underscores his deep understanding of the game and keen eye for talent.
Additionally, Callahan brings valuable insight from his previous role as a Scout for the Victoriaville Tigres. His remarkable 36-year coaching career further highlights his dedication to developing hockey talent and understanding the nuances of the sport at various levels.
Callahan’s role will focus on scouting talent in Newfoundland, leveraging his local connections and knowledge to help the Mariners strengthen their lineup with top-notch players from the region.
