YARMOUTH MARINERS ANNOUNCE TRADE DEADLINE MOVES

Yarmouth, N.S. (January 10, 2024) – The Yarmouth Mariners are pleased to announce a series of strategic trades made just before the trade deadline, aimed at fortifying the team’s roster and positioning them for a strong push as the season progresses.

The following transactions have been completed:

  1. Jean-Alexandre Tétrault to Campbellton: The Yarmouth Mariners have traded forward Jean-Alexandre Tétrault to the Campbellton Tigers in exchange for a 5th Round Draft Pick in 2024 and Future Considerations. Tétrault’s contributions to the team have been valued, and we wish him the best in his new endeavor.
  2. Damien Metastasis to Miramichi: Forward Damien Metastasis has been traded to the Miramichi Timberwolves in exchange for Future Considerations. We appreciate Damien’s time with the Mariners and wish him continued success with his new team.
  3. Ben Williams to Campbellton: Defenseman Ben Williams has been traded to the Campbellton Tigers in exchange for Future Considerations. Williams has been a valuable member of the team, and we thank him for his efforts.
  4. William Forbes acquired from Valley: In a trade with the Valley Wildcats, the Mariners have acquired forward William Forbes in exchange for a 7th Round Draft Pick in 2024. Forbes brings a dynamic skill set to the team, and we look forward to seeing his impact on the ice.
  5. Jérôme Gilbert to Flin Flon: Forward Jérôme Gilbert has been traded to the Flin Flon Bombers in exchange for Fabrice Bourgeois and Future Considerations. We appreciate Jérôme’s contributions and welcome Fabrice to the Mariners family.
  6. Van Sawlor to Campbellton: defence Van Sawlor has been traded to the Campbellton Tigers in exchange for  defence Nick Dyson. We wish Van the best in his new venture and extend a warm welcome to Nick.
  7. Michael Marquez returns to Yarmouth: The Mariners have successfully acquired former player Michael Marquez from the Anchorage Wolverines. Marquez’s familiarity with the team and his proven skills make him a valuable addition to the roster.

The Yarmouth Mariners believe that these strategic moves will strengthen the team’s competitiveness as they strive for success in the remaining games of the season. We thank the departing players for their contributions and welcome the new additions to the Mariners family.
