It was a busy few hours at Mariners Centre in Yarmouth yesterday.
The Maritime Hockey League champion Yarmouth Jr. A Mariners held a get together for billet families and sponsors, followed by a meet and greet for fans.
Players were available for photos and autographs, along with the Canadian Tire Cup and the Division championship trophy.
Billett “mom,” Michelle Warner tells CJLS Sports they took in Tyler Caseley on what was supposed to be a temporary basis.
“We intended to take him during training camp for a day or two. Then he came and stayed and told us he was making the team”
Landon Quinney came to the Warner home when he joined the team midway through the season.
Team Owner Mitch Bonnar tells CJLS Sports it was as much for the team as for the fans.
“We like to get our fans and sponsors together at least once during the year, that’s the biggest reason but also as a bit of support for the team going on to the Fred Page Cup”
The Mariners leave Tuesday for the Fred Page Cup Eastern Canadian Jr. A Championship in Amherst, and open the tournament Wednesday afternoon against the Princeville Titan of Quebec.
