We’re over a month away from training camp, and the Yarmouth Junior A Mariners are adding to their roster.
They announced yesterday they’ve acquired 20 year old defenseman Shawn Guison from Trenton, Ontario for future considerations.

Mariners Head Coach and GM Laurie Barron says Guison knows another former Mariner very well.
“He was Adam Pilotte’s defense partner in Nanaimo, in the BCHL. We’re pleased to have him aboard. He’s a veteran defenseman that’s going to bring a lot to the table.”
The Mariners are coming off a trip to the MHL final last season.
He feels he’s got a very talented squad coming back.
“We’ve added some free agents and good young players through the draft. Getting the Crossley brothers to commit is huge for us as well.”
Barron says all the 20 year olds for this season have committed, and there will be about 50 players battling for spots in camp.
He says he’s never been as excited for a hockey club as he is right now.
Training camp begins on August 23rd.
