MCKENNA COMMITS TO YORK UNIVERSITY

The Yarmouth Mariners have announced that captain Jordan McKenna has committed to the York University Lions for the 2021-22 season.

The 20-year-old forward from Dartmouth, N.S. was drafted by the Mariners in the 2nd round, 18th overall, in the 2016 Maritime Junior Hockey League Entry Draft. He appeared in one game for the Mariners in 2016-17 where he registered an assist.

After two seasons at Westminster Prep in New England, McKenna split the 2019-20 season between Yarmouth and the QMJHL’s Halifax Mooseheads. In seven games with the Mariners that season he posted four goals and seven assists.

Though 21 games in 2020-21, McKenna is tied for 9th in league scoring with 25 points, and his 16 assists is tied for 7th.
