Yarmouth, N.S. (September 10, 2025) – The Yarmouth Jr. A Mariners are proud to announce their opening night roster for the 2025/26 Maritime Hockey League season. Head Coach and General Manager Laurie Barron has named 24 players to the team, who will face off against the Campbellton Tigers in the home opener on September 12.
The roster features 14 forwards, 7 defencemen, and 3 goaltenders. Among them, 9 returning Mariners bring experience and leadership, while 15 new players inject fresh energy into the lineup—including four selections from the 2024 MHL Draft: Noah Muise, Owen O’Donnell, Cole MacLeod, and Ewan Cleary.
On the signing of forward Ewan Cleary, Coach Barron noted:
“He’s a very gifted 200-foot player that works hard at both ends of the ice. It’s nice to have another Cleary with our program.”
Ewan follows in the footsteps of his brother, Nolan Cleary, who played with the Mariners from 2021–2024 and was part of the team’s undefeated 2023 playoff run.
“I’m really excited to join the Mariners and I’m incredibly thankful for the opportunity to join such a tremendous organization,” said Ewan.
In net, veteran goaltender Keegan Warren returns to Yarmouth for his final junior season.
“To have Keegan Warren back in Yarmouth this season is great news. Keegan has the capability to put a team on his shoulders. He’s healthy now and I believe he’s going to end off his junior career with a bang,” said Coach Barron. “It’s also huge for the area as he’s started a goaltending business and will work with young goalies in the community.”
The Mariners also welcome defenceman Patrick Lambe, originally drafted by the club two years ago.
“The Mariners have a strong program with a winning culture, and I’m looking forward to bringing my compete level, strong skill set, and leadership to the team,” said Lambe.
Coach Barron added:
“We are super excited to have Patrick with us. He’s a smooth-skating D-man with great vision and hockey IQ. We feel he’s ready to be a big contributor to our club.”
Additionally, the Mariners have acquired forward Grayson Pardy from the Carleton Place Canadians (CCHL). Originally drafted 116th overall by Yarmouth in the 2023 MHL Draft, Pardy now returns to the organization.“We are excited to be able to add Grayson to our lineup. He brings talent and grit and is a big body,” said Barron.
Finally, the Mariners are pleased to announce that Matthew Barron, the franchise’s all-time leading scorer and son of Head Coach Laurie Barron, will join the coaching staff for the 2025/26 season. More information can be found here.
