It’s another one for the record books for Yarmouth Mariners Captain Matt Barron.
Batton notched an assist in the Mariners 6-0 shut out of the Truro Bearcats to set his third franchise record.
The Yarmouth native now holds records for the most games played (223), most assists (158) and now has the most points (247) in franchise history.
He is also third on the all-time goals list (89) tied with Matt Oxtoby, and trails Colin Campbell (99) and Justin d’Entremont (98).
Sam Gillis led the Mariners in the game with two goals and an assist, Jonathan Rees had a goal and two assists, Kurtis Lang added a goal and an assist, while Kieran Burke and Ryan Semple found the net once each and Michael Johnson had one helper.
Justin Sumarah made 19 saves for his third shut out of the season.
Around the rest of the league, South Shore downed Valley 5-2, Edmunston doubled Amherst 4-2, and Fredericton dumped Miramichi 8-2.
