| Saturday night Noisemaker |
 Just one regular season game left and only one thing to do. MAKE LOTS OF NOISE! As the Mariners close out the regular season against Halifax on Saturday night, we're calling all fans to bring in their noismakers and make it a memorable one. Non-perishable noisemakers (e.g. Kraft Dinner, pasta, etc.) are most welcome and will be donated to the Yarmouth Food Bank following the game. Please folks - come prepared to make noise on Saturday! |
| Huge Friday Night game |
 With a 7-5 loss in Bridgewater on Thursday night, the Mariners will need to bring their best at home on Friday night as they host the Weeks Crushers. With just two games left, the Mariners will pull out all the stops to stay ahead of Amherst. The Crushers come to town having won on Thursday night against Dieppe, 4-2. The Crushers currently have a playoff berth and a lock on second spot in the Bent, but will til present a formidable challenge to the Mariners. Game time is 7:30pm - get out and support your team! |

 The Mariners Fan of the Week is young puckbanger Dominic Higby. Dominic is a regular behind the glass and has been trained well by his Dad John to make as much noise as possible. The Mariners need your puck banging now more than ever Dominic so keep up the good work! |

If winning in Woodstock wasn't enough, how about two more points earned one night later in Halifax? That was the case as the Mariners hammered the Lions 7-2 on Thursday night at the forum, moving out of last in the Bent and keeping playoff hopes alive.

| Mariners defeat mighty Slammers |
 Just when they needed the points the most, the Mariners did what some might have thought unthinkable. They went to Woodstock and are headed back to Nova Scotia with 2 much needed points after defeating the first overall Slammers 5-4 on Wednesday night. |
| Mariners earn 4 on the weekend |
The Yarmouth Mariners, in serious need of points, came up with four of a possible six on the weekend as they defeated Truro on Friday and split their matches with the Dieppe Commandos. |

On Wednesday night, the Mariners and their Icy Knights friends gathered for some horse riding and games. It was cold, but the fun kept things warmed up!  They arrived and they produced as hoped. Along with usual suspects Denny and Nickerson, new arrivals Marco Desveaux and Justin Chiasson were stand-outs on Friday in a 6-5 overtime win over the Halifax Wolverines. |

| Mariners split weekend games |
Despite the bad weather over the weekend, the Yarmouth Mariners hosted the only two games in the MJAHL as Summerside made their way down for a two game stint. With Laurie Barron back behind the bench and the excitement of new ownership in the air, the Mariners put in solid efforts coming out with a 5-3 loss on Saturday night and bouncing back with an impressive 5-2 win on Sunday. |

 The Yarmouth Jr. A Mariners will have new owners. Team President Mr. Raymond Jacquard announced today that Yarmouth's Mitch Bonnar and Keith Condon of Tri-Star Industries have inked a deal to purchase the franchise. After a series of meetings, a deal has been reached that will see the team placed into the hands of the Yarmouth businessmen effective January 1st 2010. |

| Justin Collier Traded |
 The Yarmouth Mariners have picked up the rights to G 1991 Alex Newman, F 1991 Justin Chaisson, F 1991 Jorey Uhlman and future considerations for G 1990 Justin Collier. Justin Chaisson is currently with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles of the QMJHL, Chaisson a former Major Midget star lead in NSMMHL is scoring by over 30 points. Jorey Uhlman, having a great year at PREP School in the States and has had talks and offers from University's south of the border but needs a couple of years junior to get phyiscally stronger before the university ranks. Newman, 18, is a former team Atlantic goaltender and draft pick of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles currently sports a 7-3-0 record with a 2.39 GAA good for third in the league and a .931 sv% good for second in the league. |
| Mariners Pick Up Former OHL'er |
 The Mariners have acquired former OHL Forward Brennan Wright. Wright,18, 6'4 190 played for both the Owen Sound Attack and the Sarnia Sting in the OHL. Brennan played in the OHL as a 16 and 17 year old. "Wright is a big, strong north and south type player, who will bring a physical presence to our club. He has the ability to play both Forward and Defence", said Mariners GM Timothy Garden-cole. He has played the last year and a half for the Fort Williams North Stars of the SIJHL where he has 24 pims and 4 points in 12 games this season. He got off to a slow start to the season coming off an injury, but has 4 points in his last five games. |
| Mariners pick up rights to Q Defenceman |
 The Mariners have completed a trade with the Halifax Lions for the rights to Defenceman Kalin Paul (19), of Baie Comeau in the QMJHL. Paul has played the last four years in the QMJHL where he has collected 18 points and 308 PIMS. " Kalin is an extremely tough and physical defenceman, who has a better offensive upside then people realize" says Garden-Cole " Many teams have expressed interest in him and we were be able to grab him, he has been playing Major Junior since 16 so he is very seasoned". The Mariners gave up 2th, 4th round draft picks and future considerations, stating, "We still have 14 draft picks in including our territorial's so the picks wern't a huge concern". | New Players In Town |
 The Mariners have two new faces in town. Defenceman (19), Phill Jennrich, 6'3 190 from Lake Forrest has been acquired from the Yellowstone Quakes of the NorPac Junior League. Phill had 4 goals and 13 points in 16 games with Yellowstone and is looking forward to coming to Yarmouth. "The Mariners come highly recommended and I am very excited for this opportunity" said Jennrich, who hopes to be in the line up this weekend.
Also making his way east is Winger (19) James O'Reilly, who started the season with the Nepean Raiders of the CJHL where he collected 5 points in 12 games. " James became available, we had seen him in the summer and decided to offer to give him a conditional try out " says Timothy Garden-Cole. |
| Mariners Hire Long Time Fan |
 The Yarmouth Mariners have made a dream come true for one lucky fan. Long time fan Randy Muise, a member the the Mariner's Icy Knights program has been hired as Assistant Equipment Manager. " Randy is a great young man and a huge fan" said Garden-Cole, " I don't think anyone deserves this more then Randy. Every game Randy brings tremendous support for our club, he is always hanging around the boys and helping out so it just made perfect sense".
The Mariner's obtain Randy's services through Exclusive Employment Services which is a great program which helps people with special needs find employment. |
| Mariner's Trade Shea, Pick Up Mahoney |
 The Yarmouth Mariners have traded F Davey Shea and a 7th round draft pick to the Bridgewater Lumberjacks for D Rodney Mahoney and a conditional 5th round pick. " Davey is a good kid and we wish him the best, things just weren't quite where we wanted them to be with him" said Timothy Garden-Cole.
Mahoney, brother of Mariners current leading scorer Kenny Mahoney is playing for the MAAA St.John's Fog Devils where he currently has 10 points in as many games to go along with 46 pims." He is a kid we had looked to draft but Bridgewater grabbed him", said Garden-Cole, " He is a player we have in our system for years to come, he will finish up his high school and midget, get a little stronger and more confident and be over next year. Overall we are pleased". |
