Massive OT win on Friday Ryan Nickerson, Marco Desveaux, Justin Chiasson and Lee Chuck Denny were stand-outs on Friday night The Mariners earned a huge 6-5 overtime win on Friday at home against the Halifax Lions and much of it had to do with recent addtions Marco Desveaux and Jusitn Chiasson.
Desveaux scored scored the opening goal for the Mariners an assited on one more while Justin Chiasson made a huge first impression scoring twice and getting the game winning goal at 3:27 of overtime. Ryan Nickerson put in an outstanding performance scoring twice and assisting on two more (including the OT winner) and Lee Chuck Denny had an impressive game scoring the game tieing goal at 16:16 to force overtime while also assisting on two more. Alex Newman made huge saves to keep the Mariners in the game late. All in all, an excellent night in Yarmouth. Complete game summary link in the score box on the left!
The Mariners have a big challenge ahead of them as they play in Truro on Saturday night against the Bent leading Bearcats. Game time is 7:30 pm.
